Flat light and a covered sky today, with a persistent wind from the S and no real change in pressure. The fish at Lac Miroir are likely to sit near the margins and the shelf beyond them. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean end of Quebec holds Lac Miroir. The land about it is northern bush. It measures about 16 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The bank runs about 3.1 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. You are 52 km from Roberval. After that come Métabetchouan at 52 km and Chambord at 53 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. At Lac Miroir light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Averages here run 17°C at the top of summer and -17°C at the bottom of winter. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Miroir.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Seguin, 1.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Rules at Lac Miroir are worth checking on the day.
