An even grey lid over the water, with a consistent blow out of the S and no real change in pressure. Lac Guy should fish best around windblown banks where food collects today. Set the alarm around the night. Change depth before you change anything else. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Guy is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean waters in Quebec. It lies 426 metres above sea level. The water measures roughly 6 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Métabetchouan lies 54 km from the water. Saguenay is the closest city, 120 km away. Others worth noting: Lac Rauh out at 1.3 km, 1.3 km out stands Lac Index, Lac Maxime out at 1.7 km, 1.8 km out stands Lac Couteau and Lac Rond out at 2.2 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Lac Guy a short move beats a long cast.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -17°C. The freeze holds for the better part of the year. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Time your trip to Lac Guy by conditions rather than dates.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Should this one be busy, Lac Rauh is 1.3 km off. For Lac Guy, the notice at the access point is the final word.
