Sunshine start to finish today, with a light W breeze with a settled glass. Whatever swims in Lac Ara should be near points where shallow meets deep. The evening is where the day comes good. Change depth before you change anything else. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Night
Lac Ara lies in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. The setting is mixed forest on every side. About 2 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. 112 km away sits Val-d'Or, the nearest town. Deep River is 117 km and Saint-Boniface 123 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. County-wide records name northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Lac Ara the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -16°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Averages place the thaw at late April and the freeze at late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Time your trip to Lac Ara by conditions rather than dates.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Failing this one, try Lac de la Ramee, 0.4 km away. Ask locally about Lac Ara if anything is unclear.
