No direct sun expected today, with just enough SW wind to ripple the surface and pressure sitting still. The fish at Baie Sauvage are likely to sit near shallow cover and weed edges. The day peaks in the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Baie Sauvage falls in Estrie, part of Quebec. It lies 283 metres above sea level. About 6.15 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. It is among the larger waters listed here for Estrie. Disraeli sits 18 km from here and is the nearest stop. Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine lies 23 km off, Weedon Centre another 26 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The channel is where water moves, and fish follow it. Oyster and old piling give the only hard structure in sight. Open biodiversity records for Estrie list rainbow trout, white sucker and pumpkinseed. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. On Baie Sauvage that means starting tight and working out.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -12°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. From about late April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. On Baie Sauvage the same rules apply, with local timing.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. The closest car park is 670 m away, so pack accordingly. A jetty or pier is mapped about 580 m from here. Brochet sits 320 m out and is marked for fishing. A camping area sits within 600 m of here. There are toilets 650 m off. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Lac a la Barbue, 2.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Baie Sauvage in particular, ask before you travel.
