Open sky and sharp air tonight, with a kind W breeze on the water with the glass holding level. Fish at Toobee Lake should hold close to shallow cover and weed edges. Plan around the stretch from afternoon into evening. Change depth before you change anything else. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Algoma entry here is Toobee Lake, in Ontario. The country round it is rolling bush from end to end. At about 90 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Shoreline length is close to 8.8 km, and each section fishes a little differently. It ranks high for size among our Algoma listings. The nearest place of any size is Elliot Lake, 44 km away. Then Blind River, 63 km, and Thessalon, 77 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name walleye, northern pike, Iowa darter and yellow perch. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. On Toobee Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Averages here run 18°C at the top of summer and -13°C at the bottom of winter. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Expect Toobee Lake to follow that timing.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Cedar Lake sits 2.7 km off and takes the overflow. For Toobee Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
