No direct sun expected today, with a decent WSW wind working the banks and no real change in pressure. Give the margins and the shelf beyond them the first hour at Snake Lake. The numbers single out the evening. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Snake Lake falls in Parry Sound District, part of Ontario. The surface lies 261 metres up. At about 38 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. With 5.3 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. Some 28 km away sits Parry Sound, the nearest settlement. Greater Sudbury is the closest city, 129 km away. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Reported across Parry Sound District: smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed and yellow perch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Snake Lake that means starting tight and working out.
The seasonal spread runs -10°C to 19°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Break-up comes around mid April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Averages suggest open water from about mid April through to roughly early December. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. The season on Snake Lake follows the weather closely.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Bell Lake sits 0.8 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Snake Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
