• Where to Fish on Orange Lake

  No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Parry Sound District: smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed and yellow perch. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list.   Average temperature peaks around 19°C in July and bottoms out near -10°C in January. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around mid April. Averages suggest open water from about mid April through to roughly early December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. The season on Orange Lake rarely departs from it.
