A closed sky with even light today, with a busy WSW wind on the open water with the barometer flat. Fish at Lodge Lake should hold close to the seam between weed and open water. Everything points to the evening. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lodge Lake stands in Parry Sound District, Ontario. The surface lies 247 metres up. Surface area is around 28 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. There is roughly 3.2 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. The town to know is Parry Sound, 21 km out. The big place round here is Barrie, 127 km distant. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Parry Sound District records list smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed, yellow perch and northern pike among the fish reported. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lodge Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Expect July near 19°C and January near -10°C on the long-run figures. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Once it clears, about mid April, the fishing comes on quickly. On average, mid April opens the water and early December closes it again. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Lodge Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. McKellar Lake, 2.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position at Lodge Lake before loading the car.
