A clear night sky over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the WNW and pressure sitting still. O'Grady Lake should fish best around the shallows early and the drop later today. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

The Kenora District end of Ontario holds O'Grady Lake. The surface lies 407 metres up. Surface area is around 28 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. There is roughly 2.7 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. On size it sits at the modest end of our Kenora District list. The nearest place of any size is Sioux Lookout, 32 km away. Thunder Bay is the closest city, 250 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. County-wide records name northern pike, longnose sucker, white sucker and johnny darter. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. O'Grady Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Between January at about -18°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. The water is typically free of ice between late April and mid November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to O'Grady Lake.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Failing this one, try Squeak Lake, 2.3 km away. None of that is settled for O'Grady Lake in what we hold.
