A clear night sky over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the NW with the glass holding level. Start the search at Nemegos Lake along the margins and the shelf beyond them. The night carries the best of the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

This water sits in Sudbury, Ontario. Land around it is spruce and muskeg. About 4.82 sq km, so local knowledge or a boat saves a lot of walking. There is roughly 33 km of bank, and each arm behaves like its own water. Size puts it in the front rank of our Sudbury list. The closest town, Chapleau, is 20 km distant. Wawa follows at 118 km, then Elliot Lake at 152 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Across Sudbury, recorded fish include smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, Iowa darter and walleye. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. On Nemegos Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -15°C in January. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Nemegos Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Failing this one, try Riff Lake, 4.9 km away. For Nemegos Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
