Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a consistent blow out of the SW and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Lost Lake should come off the margins and the shelf beyond them. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Set in Regional District of Central Okanagan, British Columbia, this is Lost Lake. Elevation runs to 1,365 metres. With some 19 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 1.9 km, and most of it is walkable. Coldstream sits 15 km from the bank. Kelowna is the closest city, 31 km away. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Open biodiversity records for Regional District of Central Okanagan list sockeye salmon, rainbow trout, common carp and largescale sucker. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Fish Lost Lake where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
The range across the year is -8°C to 14°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. Open water usually runs from late April until about mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Plan around that when you fish Lost Lake.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. A campsite lies 1.5 km away for anyone staying over. There are picnic tables recorded roughly 1.5 km off. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Deer Lake, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat access at Lost Lake as something to verify.
