Drifting cloud with clear gaps tonight, with stillness over the whole water with a settled glass. The fish at Klez Lake are likely to sit near windblown banks where food collects. A grinding day likely, with the night worth the effort if any is. Save the long walk for a better forecast.

Klez Lake is one of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako listings for British Columbia. The water sits 851 metres up. Around 30 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The edge runs 2.3 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. The town to know is Vanderhoof, 46 km out. Fort St. James lies 57 km off, Burns Lake another 71 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Records held for Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako cover sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, Chinook salmon, pink salmon and Chum salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The shape of Klez Lake decides where the fish sit.
The seasonal spread runs -11°C to 14°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Ice-out usually falls in mid April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Expect the water usable from around mid April until roughly mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. The season on Klez Lake follows the weather closely.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Failing this one, try Roys Lake, 2.9 km away. The position on Klez Lake is worth confirming on the day.
