Low mist over the surface today, with a whisper of wind from the NNE and the barometer holding steady. Haddo Lake should fish best around the first drop-off and weed lines today. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient. The cold puts a premium on the calmest, deepest water.

Haddo Lake lies in Regional District of North Okanagan, in British Columbia. This is rolling bush country. There is roughly 5.1 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. On our Regional District of North Okanagan list it sits near the top for size. The town to know is Coldstream, 16 km out. Kelowna sits 37 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Regional District of North Okanagan: Coho salmon, sockeye salmon, Chinook salmon, rainbow trout and brook trout. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The near bank of Haddo Lake is often the one people ignore.
Expect August to average close to 14°C, with January the cold end at about -7°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Look for the thaw near mid April; the fishing lifts straight after. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid April and starts locking again about mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. The season on Haddo Lake follows the weather closely.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. A camping area sits within 860 m of here. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Specs Lakes sits 1.6 km off and takes the overflow. For Haddo Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
