Broken cloud drifting past the moon tonight, with a busy NE wind on the open water and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lake Ivanhoe should come off the calm side of the wind. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

The Orange County entry here is Lake Ivanhoe, in Florida. The sea is 34 miles distant. With some 110 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. A shoreline of some 1.9 miles keeps the choices simple. On our Orange County list it sits near the top for size. Orlando is the closest town at 1.7 miles. The big place round here is Orlando, 1.9 miles distant. A border sits close enough to be relevant to the paperwork.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Species logged nearby in open biodiversity records include bluegill, largemouth bass, redbreast sunfish, Florida gar and spotted sunfish. The records cover the area rather than this water alone. Read Lake Ivanhoe before you fish it and the day goes better.
Averages here run 82°F at the top of summer and 60°F at the bottom of winter. Heat, not cold, decides when to be on the water. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer squeezes it into the edges of the day. February into May fishes hardest as the water warms. Expect Lake Ivanhoe to follow that timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Parking is mapped about half a mile from the bank. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is Lake Highland, 0.6 miles out. Check the current arrangement for Lake Ivanhoe.
