Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a mirror surface most of the day and no real change in pressure. On Petit lac Guynne, work the weed line and any gaps in it first. A broad window opens from the day. Commit to the pattern once the first fish shows. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Within Mauricie, Quebec, you have Petit lac Guynne. The water sits 253 metres up. It measures about 36 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The whole outline is near 3.4 km, and most of it is walkable. Size puts it in the front rank of our Mauricie list. La Tuque lies 20 km from the water. Laurentides lies 69 km off, Weymontachie another 72 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Petit lac Guynne gives up more to patience than to distance.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. It sets the rhythm of the year at Petit lac Guynne.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Spectacle, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Petit lac Guynne carry more weight than any list.
