Bands of rain crossing through the day, with the surface near flat with the glass holding level. Fish at Petit lac Fawn should hold close to sheltered bays and points. The day fishes best from night into morning. Pick two or three spots and rotate them. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Look for Petit lac Fawn in the Mauricie part of Quebec. Height above sea level is 383 metres. It covers about 10 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. The full circuit measures close to 1.4 km on foot. La Tuque at 20 km is the nearest place to stop. Laurentides follows at 40 km, then Sainte-Thècle at 70 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout and walleye among the fish reported. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Treat Petit lac Fawn as a water to read rather than to cover.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -16°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Plan around that when you fish Petit lac Fawn.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Should this one be busy, Grand lac Fawn is 0.8 km off. None of that is settled for Petit lac Fawn in what we hold.
