Dull, settled light over the water, with the surface near flat and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Lac Vert will be around the shaded margin through bright spells. Quiet conditions all day, with the night marginally better. Save the long walk for a better forecast.

Lac Vert is an Outaouais water, in Quebec. The surface lies 144 metres up. At some 1.36 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. With 7.9 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. Size puts it in the front rank of our Outaouais list. Saint-Raphaël is the closest town at 29 km. Further out sit Wakefield (38 km) and Maniwaki (43 km). The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Fish Lac Vert to its features, not to its size.
Seasonal averages run from -13°C in January up to 19°C in July. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near early December in autumn. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. At Lac Vert the season follows that pattern closely.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Noir sits 1.5 km off and takes the overflow. Confirm before you fish Lac Vert.
