Rain moving through today, with the surface near flat and pressure going nowhere. Whatever swims in Lac Turner should be near sheltered bays and points. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the evening. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Turner sits within Outaouais in Quebec. Elevation runs to 369 metres. It measures about 79 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. There is roughly 10 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. It is among the larger waters listed here for Outaouais. Supplies mean a trip to Saint-Boniface, 92 km off. Further out sit Maniwaki (104 km) and Ferme-Neuve (105 km). The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Open biodiversity records for Outaouais list pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Turner the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -17°C. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near late November in autumn. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. It holds true on Lac Turner more years than not.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Baudemont sits 1 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position on Lac Turner before loading the car.
