Flat light and a covered sky today, with steady pressure of wind from the SSW with a settled glass. Start the search at Lac Tsuga along the seam between weed and open water. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Set in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Lac Tsuga is a Quebec water. The water sits 622 metres up. At about 17 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The full circuit measures close to 2.6 km on foot. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. The nearest place of any size is Leblanc, 67 km away. For a city, Saguenay is 189 km off. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Open biodiversity records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Lac Tsuga the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
On the long-term average, July reads 16°C and January reads -18°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Time your trip to Lac Tsuga by conditions rather than dates.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Cartier at 3.5 km is the sensible second choice. The position on Lac Tsuga is worth confirming on the day.
