In Quebec, Lac Troy falls inside Outaouais. It lies 275 metres above sea level. At roughly 7 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. You are 26 km from Saint-Boniface. The big place round here is Gatineau, 121 km distant. Nearby, in order: Lac Rod within 0.7 km, Lac Elmer 2 km away, Lac Hic within 2.6 km, Lac Raoul 3 km away and Lac Green within 3.2 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Open biodiversity records for Outaouais list pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. At Lac Troy light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -14°C on the long-run figures. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Plan around that when you fish Lac Troy.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Rod sits 0.7 km off and takes the overflow. What applies at Lac Troy may have changed since it was mapped.
