Steady rain over the water today, with light air out of the SSW and no real change in pressure. Give the calm side of the wind the first hour at Lac Susie. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Susie stands in Outaouais, Quebec. It sits at 290 metres above sea level. At 2 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Outaouais. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Boniface, 23 km away. Beyond it, Maniwaki at 27 km and Saint-Raphaël at 34 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Treat Lac Susie as a water to read rather than to cover.
The range across the year is -14°C to 18°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. At Lac Susie the season follows that pattern closely.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Should this one be busy, Lac Green is 1 km off. Confirm access to Lac Susie locally before you travel.
