A closed sky with even light today, with just enough WSW wind to ripple the surface and the barometer holding steady. Activity on Lac Terry should centre on points where shallow meets deep. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

This water sits in Mauricie, Quebec. The ground round it is spruce and muskeg. This is a pocket water of some 10 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Roughly 1.4 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. Some 80 km away sits Chapais, the nearest settlement. Saguenay sits 258 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Open biodiversity records for Mauricie list northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. The county list is broader than any single water. Anyone new to Lac Terry should walk it once before setting up.
Climate records put July near 16°C and January near -19°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. It holds true on Lac Terry more years than not.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac Pot at 1.1 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Terry for certain.
