Showers crossing the water today, with stillness over the whole water and the barometer holding steady. Give the shaded margin through bright spells the first hour at Lac Tage. Plan around the stretch from night into morning. Change depth before you change anything else. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Quebec holds Lac Tage, in Capitale-Nationale. It stands 328 metres above sea level. Roughly 16 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. About 3.0 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Nearest place of any size is Laurentides, 12 km away. The nearest city of size is Trois-Rivières, 87 km away. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for Capitale-Nationale include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker, sauger and channel catfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Work Lac Tage in sections rather than trying to cover it.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -15°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Plan any trip to Lac Tage around it.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Should this one be busy, Lac Julien is 0.7 km off. The position on Lac Tage is worth confirming on the day.
