Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a whisper of wind from the SSW with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Scardino should come off inflow corners and shaded margins. A stay-home graph, with the morning as the one excuse to go. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

This water sits in Outaouais, Quebec. It sits at 391 metres above sea level. With some 16 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. There is roughly 1.7 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Saint-Boniface is the closest place, 67 km off. Maniwaki is 75 km and Saint-Raphaël 81 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. At Lac Scardino the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
The year swings from about -16°C in January to roughly 18°C in July. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. That shapes the year on Lac Scardino.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Graf at 1.8 km is the sensible second choice. Treat Lac Scardino as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
