Scattered cloud taking the edge off the glare, with mild air moving in from the SSW with the glass holding level. Activity on Lac Gale should centre on the shaded margin through bright spells. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient.

Look for Lac Gale in the Outaouais part of Quebec. The water sits 356 metres up. Some 72 km away sits Saint-Boniface, the nearest settlement. Maniwaki follows at 80 km, then Saint-Raphaël at 86 km. Other water nearby: Ruisseau du Pin at 4 km, Lac Griffin a touch under 4 km, Lac Scardino at 4.9 km, Lac Corbeille a touch under 5.2 km and Lac Dubeau at 5.2 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Gale responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -16°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Lac Gale fishes to that pattern most years.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Ruisseau du Pin sits 4 km off and takes the overflow. Rules at Lac Gale are worth checking on the day.
