A clean, cloudless night over the water, with light air out of the SW with the barometer flat. The water to cover at Lac Saremont is any hard bottom among the soft. Not a day the forecast likes; the night keeps a flicker of interest. Lower the pace and stay patient. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Quebec holds Lac Saremont, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. It stands 400 metres above sea level. Around 19 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. There is roughly 2.8 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Val-d'Or sits 67 km from the bank. Beyond it, Senneterre at 82 km and Malartic at 88 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Abitibi-Témiscamingue, recorded fish include northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Lac Saremont fishes better once you know its edges.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -16°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Lac Saremont runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Brumare sits 1 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Lac Saremont should be assumed from this page alone.
