A closed sky with even light today, with a soft NNW wind with a settled glass. Activity on Lac Sanderson should centre on points where shallow meets deep. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. The cold puts a premium on the calmest, deepest water.

Out in Côte-Nord, Quebec, sits Lac Sanderson. The bank is 444 metres above sea level. At 5.04 sq km this is proper open water rather than a pond. Some 36 km of shoreline means conditions can differ from one end to the other. Size puts it in the front rank of our Côte-Nord list. The closest town, Labrador City, is 260 km distant. After that come Wabush at 266 km and Fermont at 277 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Côte-Nord records list logperch among the fish reported. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lac Sanderson the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Typical July readings run about 12°C; by January the average is down near -24°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Break-up comes around early June, and the run that follows is short and strong. Ice clears near early June and comes back about late October in a typical year. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Sanderson.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac Jack sits 2.3 km off and takes the overflow. Check the current arrangement for Lac Sanderson.
