Cloud in patches with bright spells between, with light air out of the SW and the barometer holding steady. Whatever swims in Lac Sagona should be near points where shallow meets deep. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Look for Lac Sagona in Outaouais, Quebec. The surroundings are lake country bush. The water covers some 16 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The full circuit measures close to 2.9 km on foot. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Boniface, 100 km away. Maniwaki follows at 111 km, then Ferme-Neuve at 120 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. At Lac Sagona light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The year swings from about -17°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. The open-water window runs from around early May to about late November in an average year. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Plan any trip to Lac Sagona around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is camping recorded roughly 1.1 km off. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Failing this one, try Lac Racle, 0.9 km away. Confirm before you fish Lac Sagona.
