A storm system brushing the area today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S and steady pressure. The productive water at Lac Rond will be around the weed line and any gaps in it. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Set in Laurentides, Quebec, this is Lac Rond. Lake country bush runs right down to the water. Small at around 4 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is a small entry by Laurentides standards. The nearest place of any size is Ferme-Neuve, 29 km away. It is 150 km to Orléans, the nearest city. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Public occurrence data for Laurentides names pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Fish Lac Rond where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
The year swings from about -15°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. The season between ice runs from about late April to late November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Anyone fishing Lac Rond regularly works to that calendar.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. If the gate is shut, Lac Bouleau at 1.2 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Rond for certain.
