Solid cloud cover today, with hardly a ripple anywhere and pressure sitting still. On Lac Robert, work the shallows early and the drop later first. Everything points to the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Night
Look for Lac Robert in the Laurentides part of Quebec. Around the bank it is mixed forest. At 6 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Nearest place of any size is Ferme-Neuve, 29 km away. Mont-Laurier is 41 km and Rivière-Rouge 46 km. Others within reach: Lac Ballard at 1.8 km, Lac Pierre a shade over 1.8 km, Lac Sureau at 2 km, Lac de la Mere a shade over 2.5 km and Lac Castor at 2.8 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Survey and observation records for Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Treat Lac Robert as a water to read rather than to cover.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -15°C on the long-run figures. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Robert.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Should this one be busy, Lac Ballard is 1.8 km off. Ask locally about Lac Robert if anything is unclear.
