A rainy spell sitting over the area, with mild air moving in from the S with the barometer flat. On Lac Renaud, work the seam between weed and open water first. Everything points to the night. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Renaud sits within Laurentides in Quebec. The land about it is rolling bush. At roughly 7 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Supplies mean a trip to La Minerve, 11 km off. Beyond it, Rivière-Rouge at 11 km and Labelle at 19 km. Alternatives close at hand: Lac Noir within 1.2 km, 1.7 km away is Lac Blanc, Lac Boivin within 2.8 km, 2.8 km away is Petit lac Noir and Lac Fer a Cheval within 2.9 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Read Lac Renaud for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
The range across the year is -14°C to 18°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. At Lac Renaud the season follows that pattern closely.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Noir sits 1.2 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position at Lac Renaud before loading the car.
