Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a proper ripple driven from the S with a settled glass. Start the search at Lac Renaud along reed fringes and open pockets. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Renaud belongs to Mauricie, Quebec. The bank is 447 metres above sea level. About 9 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Some 55 km away sits La Tuque, the nearest settlement. The big place round here is Saguenay, 113 km distant. Water in the same corner: Lac du Barrage some 0.8 km off, Lac des Fougeres at 1.1 km, Lac Arthur some 1.2 km off, Lac Truman at 1.5 km and Lac de l'Ouest some 1.8 km off. No border sits close enough to matter.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Fish Lac Renaud to its features, not to its size.
Averages move between -16°C in January and 17°C in July. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Renaud.
The access position is unclear from public sources. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac du Barrage sits 0.8 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Renaud for certain.
