Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a proper ripple driven from the S and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Arthur should come off structure within a cast of the bank. Everything points to the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Arthur lies within the bounds of Mauricie, Quebec. Land around it is taiga. Surface area is around 19 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The whole outline is near 3.5 km, and most of it is walkable. La Tuque lies 55 km from the water. Métabetchouan lies 66 km off, Chambord another 72 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Fish documented in Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Read Lac Arthur before you fish it and the day goes better.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -16°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Lac Arthur fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Petit lac Arthur at 0.6 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Lac Arthur may have changed since it was mapped.
