Flat light and a covered sky today, with an easy breeze from the S and the barometer holding steady. Start the search at Lac Pomy along sheltered bays and points. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

The Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean entry here is Lac Pomy, in Quebec. It sits at 444 metres above sea level. Small at around 5 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. You are 71 km from Normandin. Albanel follows at 75 km, then Saint-Félicien at 87 km. Also within reach: 0.8 km out stands Lac Bais, Lac Evran a shade over 1.2 km, 1.3 km out stands Lac Sajot, Lac Terriac a shade over 1.6 km and 1.7 km out stands Lac Rieux. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. At Lac Pomy light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The year swings from about -19°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Lac Pomy.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Failing this one, try Lac Bais, 0.8 km away. For Lac Pomy, the notice at the access point is the final word.
