Overcast skies today, with a whisper of wind from the S and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Poe should come off bays that hold the day's warmth. Nothing special in any period, but nothing dead either. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Night
Lac Poe falls in Laurentides, part of Quebec. It lies 262 metres above sea level. Roughly 11 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The bank runs about 1.9 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Rivière-Rouge sits 14 km from here and is the nearest stop. Labelle is 24 km and La Minerve 32 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Treat Lac Poe as a water to read rather than to cover.
Between January at about -15°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. On Lac Poe the same rules apply, with local timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Navaron, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Rules at Lac Poe are worth checking on the day.
