Stars out and no cloud tonight, with barely a breath of wind and the barometer holding steady. On Lac Chaud, work the calm side of the wind first. Fair numbers all day without a real peak. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Chaud stands in Laurentides, Quebec. Everything around it is lake country bush. It measures some 7.24 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. You have roughly 26 km of edge to choose from, which rewards a scouting trip. On our Laurentides list it sits near the top for size. The closest town, Rivière-Rouge, is 8.5 km away. The big place round here is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 113 km distant. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Public occurrence data for Laurentides names pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lac Chaud a short move beats a long cast.
Averages here run 18°C at the top of summer and -14°C at the bottom of winter. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Plan around that when you fish Lac Chaud.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. The nearest alternative is Lac a Lapointe, 1.6 km out. What applies at Lac Chaud may have changed since it was mapped.
