A grey, even sky over the water, with a useful SSW wind pushing food about with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Lac Pitt should come off the calm side of the wind. If you pick one session, make it the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Pitt falls in Lanaudière, part of Quebec. The surroundings are taiga. The water measures roughly 3 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Our Lanaudière list holds plenty of bigger water. Nearest town is Manawan, 20 km off. After that come Saint-Michel-des-Saints at 51 km and Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm at 85 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Reported across Lanaudière: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lac Pitt fishes better once you know its edges.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -16°C in January. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. That shapes the year on Lac Pitt.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. The nearest alternative is Lac du Desert, 1.8 km out. Ask locally about Lac Pitt if anything is unclear.
