An even grey lid over the water, with dead-still conditions and steady pressure. Activity on Lac Pine should centre on the weed line and any gaps in it. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

The Abitibi-Témiscamingue entry here is Lac Pine, in Quebec. It lies 315 metres above sea level. This is sizeable water at about 1.26 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. The margin runs to about 8.0 km in total. Size puts it in the front rank of our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list. Some 56 km away sits Notre-Dame-du-Lac, the nearest settlement. Further out sit Témiscaming (61 km) and Saint-Isidore (67 km). The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch and walleye. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Pine responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Long-run averages give July about 18°C and January about -15°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. It holds true on Lac Pine more years than not.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac des Ronces sits 1.2 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac Pine in particular, ask before you travel.
