An even grey lid over the water, with air barely moving and steady pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Souki around the shallows early and the drop later. A grinding day likely, with the evening worth the effort if any is. Scale down and fish slowly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

You will find Lac Souki in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. It lies 325 metres above sea level. The water measures roughly 6 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Notre-Dame-du-Lac lies 51 km from the water. Then Témiscaming, 56 km, and Saint-Isidore, 66 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Abitibi-Témiscamingue records list northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker among the fish reported. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Souki gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -15°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. Open water usually runs from late April until about late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. At Lac Souki the season follows that pattern closely.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac a l'Eau Claire at 1.9 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Souki, the notice at the access point is the final word.
