Dull, settled light over the water, with mild air moving in from the S and pressure sitting still. Whatever swims in Lac Pichard should be near the shaded margin through bright spells. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Pichard stands in Laurentides, Quebec. The bank is 252 metres above sea level. The water measures roughly 8 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. La Minerve lies 14 km from the water. The nearest city of size is Orléans, 85 km away. Near neighbours include: Lac des Cirses within 0.7 km, Lac Beta the better part of 0.9 km, Lac de la Sente within 1.1 km, Lac Cache the better part of 1.7 km and Lac Rouge within 1.9 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. On Lac Pichard the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Temperature averages peak at 18°C in July and bottom out at -14°C in January. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. The season between ice runs from about late April to late November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Lac Pichard fishes to that pattern most years.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. If the gate is shut, Lac des Cirses at 0.7 km is the nearest alternative. Check the current arrangement for Lac Pichard.
