A closed sky with even light today, with a soft S wind with the glass holding level. Lac Beta should fish best around any hard bottom among the soft today. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Laurentides, Quebec, is where Lac Beta sits. The bank is 249 metres above sea level. It measures about 24 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The bank runs about 2.7 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. The nearest town is La Minerve, 15 km away. The big place round here is Orléans, 85 km distant. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Across Laurentides, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lac Beta the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -14°C in January. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Time your trip to Lac Beta by conditions rather than dates.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. The nearest alternative is Lac Pichard, 0.9 km out. For Lac Beta in particular, ask before you travel.
