Lac Pan near Labelle: Fishing Spots, Seasons and Access

• Overview

  Lac Pan is one of the Lanaudière listings for Quebec. The land about it is mixed forest. It measures about 11 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. A shoreline of some 1.6 km keeps the choices simple. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. Labelle is the closest place, 26 km off. Further out sit Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm (27 km) and Rivière-Rouge (28 km). There is no boundary nearby to worry about.

• Where to Fish on Lac Pan

  Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Across Lanaudière, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Lac Pan the first feature you find is usually worth a session.

• Seasonal Patterns

  Expect July near 17°C and January near -15°C on the long-run figures. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about late November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. At Lac Pan the season follows that pattern closely.

• Tackle & Baits

  Access is not recorded for this water. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Arga at 1.3 km is the sensible second choice. Check the position on Lac Pan before loading the car.
