Overcast skies today, with a proper ripple driven from the SSW with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Rossi along bays that hold the day's warmth. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Set in Laurentides, Lac Rossi is a Quebec water. The surface lies 462 metres up. Roughly 1.99 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. At about 12 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. Size puts it in the front rank of our Laurentides list. 24 km away sits Labelle, the nearest town. Further out sit Rivière-Rouge (26 km) and Mont-Tremblant (27 km). The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Work Lac Rossi in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The year swings from about -15°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Time your trip to Lac Rossi by conditions rather than dates.
Access is not recorded for this water. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Lafine at 1.5 km is the sensible second choice. Check the current arrangement for Lac Rossi.
