Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a gentle ripple from the S and the barometer holding steady. Lac Palissade should fish best around the weed line and any gaps in it today. The strongest window is the night. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Quebec holds Lac Palissade, in Mauricie. The bank gives way to boreal forest. The water covers some 15 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The full circuit measures close to 3.9 km on foot. 12 km away sits Weymontachie, the nearest town. Beyond it, Leblanc at 64 km and La Tuque at 86 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout and walleye. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. On Lac Palissade the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Long-term averages put July at about 16°C and January near -17°C. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Palissade.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is Lac Byre, 0.7 km out. For Lac Palissade in particular, ask before you travel.
