No direct sun expected today, with a faint SSW drift and no real change in pressure. The fish at Lac Omer are likely to sit near the weed line and any gaps in it. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac Omer belongs to Côte-Nord, Quebec. It sits 3.7 km in from the sea. Roughly 18 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Around 1.8 km of margin, front to back. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Quebec listings. Baie-Comeau is the closest place, 14 km off. Hauterive follows at 21 km, then Chute-aux-Outardes at 34 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Côte-Nord records list logperch among the fish reported. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Take Lac Omer a stretch at a time.
Seasonal averages run from -15°C in January up to 16°C in July. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Anyone fishing Lac Omer regularly works to that calendar.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Failing this one, try Lac Adelard, 0.8 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Omer in what we hold.
