Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a light chop building from the SSW with a settled glass. The water to cover at Lac Low is any hard bottom among the soft. A grinding day likely, with the evening worth the effort if any is. Scale down and fish slowly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Quebec holds Lac Low, in Côte-Nord. Height above sea level is 129 metres. Small at around 6 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Côte-Nord. Nearest place of any size is Baie-Comeau, 12 km away. Beyond it, Hauterive at 19 km and Chute-aux-Outardes at 32 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. County-wide records name logperch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. On Lac Low the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 16°C, while January sits near -15°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Low.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Mapping shows parking within 180 m. Public data records a pier about 920 m out. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac aux Canards is 1.2 km off. Rules at Lac Low are worth checking on the day.
