Dull, settled light over the water, with a persistent wind from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Odile should hold close to points where shallow meets deep. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Odile is a Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean water, Quebec side. Elevation runs to 558 metres. With some 73 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. At about 8.9 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. On our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list it sits near the top for size. You are 74 km from Normandin. Saguenay is the closest city, 187 km away. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Survey and observation records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Lac Odile responds to conditions more than to tactics.
The year swings from about -18°C in January to roughly 15°C in July. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The water is typically free of ice between early May and early November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Odile.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Dessaline, 1.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac Odile as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
