Broken cloud drifting past the moon tonight, with a soft SSW wind and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lac Nona along the calm side of the wind. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Nona is one of the Outaouais waters in Quebec. The water sits 384 metres up. Surface area runs to about 3 hectares — small enough to read in one session. On size it sits at the modest end of our Outaouais list. Saint-Boniface sits 97 km from the bank. Ferme-Neuve lies 100 km off, Maniwaki another 110 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Work Lac Nona in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -17°C. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. From about early May to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. The season on Lac Nona follows the weather closely.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Pomoy sits 0.6 km off and takes the overflow. Signs at Lac Nona carry more weight than any list.
