A closed sky with even light today, with mild air moving in from the SE and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Morasse should come off bays that hold the day's warmth. If you pick one session, make it the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Morasse is listed under Capitale-Nationale, Quebec. The bank is 209 metres above sea level. At 10 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Laurentides at 17 km is the nearest place to stop. The big place round here is Sainte-Foy, 71 km distant. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Capitale-Nationale: lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker, sauger and channel catfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Lac Morasse the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
The warm month here averages 18°C; the cold one sits at -15°C. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Plan around that when you fish Lac Morasse.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. There is somewhere to leave the car, 240 m off. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac a Valere, 0.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position at Lac Morasse before loading the car.
