Fresh rain topping the water up today, with mild air moving in from the SSW and pressure sitting still. Start the search at Lac Misere along windblown banks where food collects. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Set in Outaouais, Lac Misere is a Quebec water. The bank gives way to pine and birch. Surface area is around 12 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The edge runs 1.9 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Saint-Boniface is the closest place, 93 km off. Maniwaki follows at 104 km, then Ferme-Neuve at 109 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. At Lac Misere the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -17°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. The season on Lac Misere rarely departs from it.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. The nearest alternative is Lac Urus, 1.1 km out. For Lac Misere, the notice at the access point is the final word.
